Unlike traditional breast augmentation methods, alloClae is an off-the-shelf regenerative treatment that uses purified donor fat cells to add targeted soft tissue volume without the need for synthetic implants or invasive surgery. The product is composed of an allogeneic adipose tissue matrix, which is donated human fat that has undergone a proprietary five-step purification process to remove cellular debris and DNA. Preparation
Preparing for an alloClae breast augmentation is more straightforward than it is with traditional breast implant surgery or liposuction and fat transfer to your breast. Your surgeon will recommend avoiding nicotine, alcohol, and certain blood-thinning medications and supplements in the days leading up to your procedure to minimize the risk of bruising and support optimal healing. Our team will provide clear instructions regarding what to wear and how to prepare the treatment area for your appointment.
Procedure
alloClae breast augmentation is an efficient, in-office procedure that typically takes between 60 and 90 minutes to complete. To ensure your comfort, your surgeon begins by applying a topical numbing cream or injecting a local anesthetic to thoroughly numb the breast tissue. Once the area is prepared, they will make a tiny incision and use a specialized cannula to deliver the alloClae into targeted regions. Because your surgeon controls and performs the placement in real time using the ultrasound, they can precisely build volume and refine the breast contour to achieve optimal symmetry and shape. The majority of the alloclae augmentations are done using the preservation concept. This places the alloClae above the muscle fascia, below the breast gland, to preserve all the natural ligaments and tissue. The goal is to stay out of the breast gland but give a natural appearance and feel. It utilizes all of the preservation concepts while using a natural product such as alloClae for the augmentation. Patients generally experience a sensation of pressure rather than pain, and since general anesthesia is not required, you will remain awake and comfortable throughout the session. We have had patients here at Austin Plastic Surgeon that have had surgery at noon and been out to dinner at 7 that same day looking absolutely fabulous!
Recovery
Recovery after alloClae is relatively quick, with most patients returning to their normal daily routines within 24 to 48 hours. Since there is no liposuction or harvesting of fat, there is no donor site to heal from, downtime is significantly reduced compared to traditional fat transfer. It is normal to experience some mild swelling, tenderness, or light bruising at the injection sites for a few days as the tissue adjusts to the new volume. You may be advised to wear a soft, supportive bra and avoid strenuous chest-focused exercise for about a week to support optimal tissue integration. Any minor discomfort can be managed with over-the-counter support, and the small entry points usually heal without the need for sutures.
Results
Patients can appreciate a noticeable improvement in breast volume and contour immediately following the procedure. While initial results are visible right away, the final enhancements will continue to refine over several weeks as swelling dissipates and the alloClae matrix integrates with the surrounding natural tissue. Results typically stabilize by three months, at which point the breasts take on a softer, more harmonious appearance.
