Butt Lift

Consultations offered at our three convenient locations in Austin, TX, San Antonio, TX and Westlake Hills, TX

Butt Lift

A butt lift is a surgical procedure that can lift, enhance the fullness, shape, and symmetry of your buttocks without any injections or implants. This procedure removes excess skin of the buttocks and outer thighs. It can be combined with an auto-augmentation, which uses the tissue that would typically be removed in a butt lift to add shape and volume to your buttocks to create a firmer, rounder, and more balanced booty. In the past, a butt lift with auto-augmentation was limited by the positioning of the tissue for the buttock augmentation. At Austin Plastic Surgeon, we use a parasacral propeller flap to give us maximal control and contour of the buttocks. These fancy terms are ways to create shape, projection, and lift to the buttocks.

Austin Plastic Surgeon is a leading aesthetic practice in Austin, San Antonio, and West Lake Hills. We pride ourselves on our natural, seamless-looking results that enhance patients’ inner beauty. The buttocks have always been a challenging aspect for many aesthetic practices, but something that we have always prided ourselves on specializing in.

About Butt Lifts

A butt lift is a surgical procedure that can improve the appearance and shape of the buttocks by lifting and contouring them. It can also be combined with an auto-augmentation that uses your body’s own tissue to shape and sculpt the buttocks. This procedure combines the traditional butt lift with a process called auto-augmentation, which uses your own tissue for the procedure, rather than implants or fillers. (1) In the past, auto-augmentation procedures have fallen short as they did not sculpt the entire buttock. The parasacral propeller flap has changed everything. The butt lift shapes and lifts the butt while the auto-augmentation enhances and shapes the buttocks. This produces results that look and feel softer and more natural than other gluteal augmentation methods.

Ozempic Butt

“Ozempic butt” refers to buttocks that appear saggy and or deflated after rapid weight loss. It occurs after rapid, GLP-1-induced weight loss when the skin loses its elasticity rather than retracting to the new slim contours. Patients love the way they feel, but want to look as good as they feel. We can’t always control where we lose our body fat and often lose it where we don’t want to, such as the buttocks. While patients with milder concerns may be able to address them through diet changes and regular exercise, most patients find that they need further intervention, prompting them to seek surgical intervention. Many patients are on their weight loss journey and have been losing a significant amount of weight, which is only going to continue to increase as new medications come to the market that will be equivalent to bariatric surgery.

Benefits

Butt lift with auto-augmentation offers several benefits, including:

  • Elevated Sculpt: One of the main benefits of a butt lift is its ability to accentuate the curves and contours of your buttocks.
  • Buttock Lifting: Removing excess skin that lifts and shapes the buttocks and the outer thighs.
  • No Synthetic Materials: Because the procedure uses your own tissue, you will not need to worry about any implant-related complications.
  • Natural Result: This procedure will address skin laxity and volume loss, all while giving you a natural result, as it is your own tissue.
  • Better Fitting Clothing: Many patients find that after their procedure, their clothing fits more comfortably and flatteringly.
  • Customizable Treatment Plans: Our surgical team designs each procedure around your specific concerns and anatomy to ensure that results meet your expectations.
  • Lasting Results: Butt-lifting procedures yield long-lasting results that you can enjoy for several years on end.
  • Concealable Scarring: Our surgeons place each incision in discreet areas, so they hide easily beneath your clothing or swimsuit
  • Enhanced Confidence: Many of our former patients report improvements in self-esteem and body positivity after seeing their renewed figure.

Candidates

You may be a suitable candidate for a butt lift if you are interested in lifting, enhancing the fullness, shape, and symmetry of your buttocks without the use of implants, fat transfer, or injectable fillers. This procedure is also ideal for those who are struggling with deflated or sagging buttocks as a result of either bariatric surgery or the effects of GLP-1-induced weight loss. (2)

To undergo this procedure, you should be in good general health without any underlying medical conditions that may affect your recovery and results. You should hold realistic expectations regarding what your procedure can achieve. It is also important that you are nonsmoking or willing to quit using nicotine.

Preparation

Once you have scheduled your butt lift, your surgeon will let you know it’s time to begin making your preparations. To help, your surgeon will provide you with a detailed set of instructions, which may include:

  • Avoiding Certain Medications: Discontinue using any medications or supplements that contain antiplatelet or blood-thinning properties.
  • Arranging Transportation: Have a trusted friend or family member drive you home after your procedure, as you will not be able to drive yourself.
  • Requesting Time Away: Prepare to take time away from your personal and professional responsibilities, as well as any social commitments you may have.
  • Filling Your Prescriptions: Acquire any medications you may need throughout your recovery.
  • Ceasing Any Substance Use: Avoid consuming any alcohol or nicotine in the weeks leading up to your procedure, and maintain your abstinence in the weeks following.

Procedure

Our surgeons perform the butt lift on an outpatient basis, typically while the patient is under general anesthesia.

Your surgeon will begin by making an incision around the parasacral area, which is near the sacrum or lower back. It typically follows your bikini line so that it can hide in most underwear and swimsuits. Removing the excess skin from the buttocks and hips will lift, shape, and sculpt the entire buttocks. If a butt lift includes an auto-augmentation, it will also include carefully dissecting a flap, which will include the fat and blood vessels of the area to ensure the blood supply remains intact while adding volume to the buttocks. They will then rotate the flap around its vascular axis, or its blood supply, which originates from the perforator vessels in the parasacral area, creating a propeller flap. This unique design allows the auto-augmentation to overcome many of the shortcomings of previous auto-augmentation techniques. This allows the augmentation to shape the entire buttock. Your surgeon will position the flap strategically in the buttocks before suturing it to provide you with your desired volume and sculpt. They will then eliminate any excess skin from the area to ensure uplifted and seamless contours.

Recovery

Butt Lift

After your butt lift, you can expect to experience some swelling, bruising, or tenderness around the treated areas. These effects will subside on their own as you continue to recover, but you may also manage them with prescribed medications and plenty of rest.

Throughout this time, your surgeon will have you wear a compression garment to minimize further swelling and support the new contours of your buttocks. They will direct you to avoid lying down, sitting, or placing pressure on your buttocks for an extended period of time, but you may switch to specialized pillows with their approval. After resting for several weeks, you may return to work, but you will need to continue refraining from anything arduous or strenuous until you have made a full recovery or your surgeon has cleared you to return.

Results

You may notice immediate improvements in your figure, but the full results of your procedure will become more accentuated as you continue to heal. You will be able to enjoy firmer and tighter-feeling skin, improved volume, elevated symmetry, and perkier, more lifted buttocks. These effects can each contribute to a more desirable and alluring silhouette, as well as improvements in your sense of self-confidence and body positivity.

The results of a butt lift are long-lasting and can remain for many years to come. However, you must maintain a stable weight and a healthy lifestyle to preserve these effects over time.

FAQ

What is the difference between a Brazilian Butt Lift and a butt lift?

A Brazilian Butt Lift uses liposuction to take fat from other areas of the body and reinject it into the buttocks to improve their shape, volume, and symmetry. A butt lift is a surgical procedure that eliminates excess skin and elevates the position of the buttocks to restore a more youthful-looking appearance without the use of injections or implants.

Will there be any significant scarring after my butt lift?

Every surgical procedure will carry a degree of scarring, but your surgeon will place each incision in an easily concealable area to maintain your discretion. Over time, any scars will fade and continue to become less perceptible.

Are there any non-surgical alternatives for a butt lift?

The closest non-surgical alternatives for this procedure consist of injectable fillers or skin-tightening treatments. However, non-surgical treatments will not offer the same results or duration of effects that surgical intervention can provide.

How long will the results of my butt lift last?

If you pair your results with a stable weight and a healthy lifestyle, your results will last for many years on end.
