PRF EZ Gel

Consultations offered at our three convenient locations in Austin, TX, San Antonio, TX and Westlake Hills, TX

PRF EZ Gel is an investigational growth-factor-rich injectable intended to repair your skin barrier, restore volume, and reduce signs of aging by helping your body increase your skin’s collagen and elastin levels. If you are struggling with signs of aging, this treatment has shown potential for reducing the appearance of fine lines, under-eye bags, and sunken cheeks to help you achieve a plumper, more youthful complexion.*

As you age and the levels of collagen in your skin decline, it is common to experience an uneven skin tone from sun damage, fine lines, and wrinkles. Volume loss can also result in hollow eyes and sunken cheeks that create an aged appearance. PRF EZ Gel can potentially help your skin barrier repair itself over time while providing natural-looking volume without adding any traditional hyaluronic acid based fillers.*

The team at Austin Plastic Surgeon has helped thousands of patients rejuvenate their skin with innovative formulas for long-lasting results. With a simple injectable, we can quickly help you achieve a more radiant complexion. Contact our office to learn more about PRF EZ Gel:*

About PRF EZ Gel

Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is being researched for its ability to enhance the appearance of the skin with growth factors that help the body generate new tissue. (1) PRF is thought to release growth factors to help your skin regenerate over time for a longer period than standard platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments that emit a lesser burst of growth factors.* (2)

With PRF EZ Gel treatments, we aim to help you repair your skin barrier and replenish volume by extracting nutrients from your blood and using them to create a filler for enhancing your complexion. The growth factors in the PRF-infused filler may release fibroblasts in your skin, which help your body produce elastin and collagen, proteins that help your skin maintain its structure.*

PRF EZ Gel vs Dermal Fillers

In 2023, specialists performed more than 3.4 million dermal filler treatments to help patients improve their appearance. (3) Dermal fillers are injectables that add volume to your skin, but they do not contain the same regenerative properties that PRF is theorized to have. Although some dermal fillers contain tiny microspheres to stimulate collagen, they are not designed to help your body generate new tissue in the same way.*

The growth factors in the PRF EZ Gel are theorized to be able to renew your skin over time while providing lasting volume to reduce fine lines, facial hollows, and deep folds for a more youthful appearance. PRF EZ Gel may potentially offer the benefits of a filler while helping your skin regenerate with nutrients from your own blood.*

Benefits

PRF treatments can be completed in a convenient, 45-minute appointment. While the treatment is still investigational, there are several benefits associated with PRF EZ Gel, including:*

  • Natural-looking results: The PRF-infused filler is thought to provide soft, natural-looking volume.*
  • Brighter eyes: The treatment intends to correct the appearance of under-eye hollows to improve your complexion and provide a more wakeful look.
  • A smoother complexion: The treatment is being researched for its ability diminish acne scars, (2) wrinkles and fine lines.*
  • More radiant complexion: The growth factors present in PRF could potentially help stimulate new collagen and elastin for a more youthful, refreshed appearance.*
  • Minimal downtime: The treatment is considered minimally invasive, allowing patients to return to their daily routines soon after treatment.*
  • Synthetic-free treatment: The treatment is thought to be well tolerated because it uses the nutrients from a sample of your own blood.*

Candidates

Suitable candidates for PRF EZ Gel would often like to improve the appearance of their skin and restore volume. If you are experiencing fine lines or signs of aging and do not wish to receive synthetic injectables–or have an allergy to an ingredient in an injectable formula–the PRF treatment may be a better option. Since it is thought to have potential for collagen production and cell renewal, the treatment may be associated with brighter, more radiant skin over time. The best candidates for the treatment:*

  • Are nonsmokers or are willing to quit for a period of time
  • Have realistic expectations about the results they can achieve
  • Wish to reduce signs of aging and restore volume

If you have a blood disorder, you may not be the best candidate, and in that case, we can discuss alternatives.*

Personal Consultation

During your consultation, we will ask about your medical history and current medications to create a personalized treatment plan for your needs. We will perform a physical exam of your skin to determine the areas that need additional volume. We can discuss the treatment area and the process to ensure it is a good fit for you.*

If you have additional aesthetic goals, we can potentially combine PRF EZ Gel treatments with other procedures to help you achieve them. If you have a blood disorder or are not a candidate for PRF EZ Gel, we can discuss dermal fillers during your appointment. We offer several different kinds of fillers to improve your appearance.*

Preparation

To prepare for an EZ Gel treatment, you will need to:

  • Stop taking blood thinners
  • Stay hydrated
  • Avoid smoking and nicotine

You will also need to take good care of your skin and avoid excessive sun exposure that could cause skin damage. If your skin does become damaged, we may need to delay your treatment.*

Treatment Process

During your treatment, we will cleanse your skin and draw a small sample of blood to create the PRF EZ Gel serum. We will purify your blood in a centrifuge to extract the purest PRF from your blood. This PRF is then mixed with your own blood protein albumin to achieve an optimal gel-like consistency.*

We will administer the EZ PRF Gel solution beneath your skin with the goal of providing natural-looking volume and helping rejuvenate your skin. You can return home soon afterward and resume your normal routine. You should, however, try to avoid excessive sun exposure. The treatment is recommended to be completed in a series of 2 treatments spaced 6 weeks apart for optimum results.*

After Your Treatment

After a PRF EZ Gel treatment, you may experience some mild, temporary swelling in the treatment area that typically subsides after a few days. You will need to avoid strenuous activity for the first few days of your recovery while the treatment settles to avoid any unwanted effects. Similarly, avoid massaging the treatment area or touching your skin frequently. We will recommend helpful products for your skin type that you can use to help enhance the results of your injection.*

Results

This treatment is being researched for its potential as a well-tolerated alternative to traditional fillers. It is thought to reduce signs of skin aging with long-lasting results. Results from this treatment are projected to last anywhere from three months to a year.*
