About Bridal Glow-Up
Leading up to your wedding, it is essential to prioritize self-care amidst all the preparation so that you can feel confident and radiant when you walk down the aisle. The Bridal Glow-Up at Austin Plastic Surgeon is a trio of services we designed specifically to allow you time to relax and treat yourself while improving your skin’s tone, texture, and clarity. With five to six months to get your skin in optimal shape for your wedding, bear in mind that skin responds best to consistency, not intensity. The Bridal Glow-Up aims to build lasting, visible results through a combination of routine expert-administered treatments and gentle at-home care.
VI Peel
The VI Peel is a medium-depth, medical-grade chemical peel that targets texture, acne, hyperpigmentation, and signs of aging. A proprietary blend of TCA, phenol, and salicylic acids penetrates the top layers of the skin to the dermis by exfoliating dead skin cells, eradicating toxins, and stimulating collagen production. (1) In combination with a gentle at-home skincare regimen, the VI Peel boosts skin cell turnover to reveal a refreshed, glowing complexion.
SkinPen Microneedling
SkinPen is an advanced microneedling device that utilizes 12 surgical-grade stainless steel needles to create thousands of microchannels in treated areas, stimulating collagen production and encouraging maximum topical product absorption and cell renewal. (2) The SkinPen portion of the Bridal Glow-Up regimen consists of three consecutive sessions scheduled four weeks apart to allow time for the microchannels to heal. The long-lasting collagen-building effects create a brighter, tighter complexion.
Hydrafacial MD
The Hydrafacial is a multi-step, customizable skin-resurfacing therapy that combines all the pampering rejuvenation of your favorite spa facial with medical treatment results. Through a combination of hydra-dermabrasion, gentle extractions, antioxidant infusion, LED light therapy, and customized Boosters, this treatment increases visible brightness and hydration for improved suppleness and glow.
Benefits
The Bridal Glow-Up enhances your skin’s healthy appearance for your wedding day through a carefully planned and executed approach. Key benefits of the regimen include:
- Improved Skin Tone and Texture: The VI Peel and SkinPen microneedling treatments work together to exfoliate dead skin cells and encourage new collagen production, resulting in a more even, smooth, and refined complexion.
- Reduced Hyperpigmentation and Blemishes: The proprietary combination of acids in the VI Peel addresses issues such as sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and mild acne scarring, helping to clarify and brighten skin.
- Deep Hydration and Radiance: Two Hydrafacials, especially the second one to occur just days before your event, infuse the skin with vital antioxidants and hydration, creating the desirable bridal glow you can memorialize in photographs for a lifetime.
- Lasting Collagen Production: Three SkinPen microneedling sessions encourage deep dermal regeneration and provide long-term benefits like increased firmness and reduced appearance of fine lines.
- Stress Relief: Treatment sessions in the relaxing Austin Plastic Surgeon medspa offer dedicated moments of self-care amidst the often-stressful wedding preparations, allowing you time and space to relax and feel pampered.
Candidates
The Bridal Glow-Up is an ideal package for nearly any bride wanting to enhance her natural beauty and show off luminous skin on her wedding day. This regimen is particularly appealing for patients who have:
- Dull or uneven skin tone
- Fine lines or mild signs of aging
- Mild to moderate hyperpigmentation or acne scarring
- Skin in need of intensive hydration
Potential candidates should be in overall good health and hold realistic expectations about treatments. While the Bridal Glow-Up is suitable for most skin types, you will need a personal consultation to ensure that you are an eligible candidate. Individuals with certain skin conditions and those who are pregnant or nursing may need to modify treatments.
Personal Consultation
During your personal consultation with the aesthetic specialists at Austin Plastic Surgeon, we will:
- Evaluate Your Skin: Our specialists perform a comprehensive skin assessment to understand your unique concerns, skin type, and overall health.
- Review Your Timeline: We tailor the precise timing of your treatments around your planning and schedule to achieve maximum results by your wedding day.
- Personalize Your Regimen: While the core services (VI Peel, SkinPen, Hydrafacial) remain constant, we can select appropriate boosters and serums for your Hydrafacial treatments to achieve or enhance your specific skin goals.
- Design At-Home Routine: We provide expert guidance on essential at-home product use and adjustments to your skincare routine to support and extend the results of your in-office treatments.
- Answer All Questions: Your consultation is the perfect opportunity to address any questions or concerns you may have about the procedures, downtime, or aftercare.
The Process
Ideally, you will start your Bridal Glow-Up treatment routine five to six months ahead of your wedding day so that your customized therapies have sufficient time for results to develop.
We administer treatments four weeks apart as follows:
VI Peel (5-6 months out)
- Procedure: Your esthetician applies the peel solution in the office, then you wash it off four hours later at home. After three days, peeling will begin and last for a couple of days. You are provided with an aftercare kit with all of the products and instructions you will need for the week of your peel.
- Goal: Deep exfoliation, pigment correction, texture refinement, and clearing of acne
SkinPen Microneedling (4, 3, and 2 months out)
- Procedure: You receive a topical anesthetic, then the SkinPen device gently glides over the treatment area to create calculated micro-channels.
- Goal: Collagen stimulation, scar reduction, pore refinement, softening of fine lines, and tone and texture improvement.
Hydrafacial MD (Test – 1 month out)
- Procedure: A multi-step process involving cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, customized booster, and antioxidant-hydration infusion, with specialized LED light therapy.
- Goal: Assess skin response and deliver intense hydration and nourishment.
Hydrafacial MD (Final – 2-3 days out)
- Procedure: Same steps as the test Hydrafacial, but with potential add-ons to prime your skin for flawless makeup application.
- Goal: Achieve maximum brightness, plumpness, and hydration just before your wedding day.
Results
The results of your Bridal Glow-Up are cumulative and will build throughout the treatment timeline. After the VI Peel, you can notice clearer skin tone, softened fine lines, and reduced blemishes. Through the SkinPen treatment portion, you will see progressive improvement in skin texture, firmness, and elasticity thanks to enhanced collagen production. On your wedding day, your skin will exhibit maximum firmness, radiance, and hydration, reflecting a healthy, rejuvenated bridal glow.
Corresponding Procedures
While the Bridal Glow-Up package covers essential skin therapies, many brides choose to enhance their treatment regimen with additional procedures. These add-ons can integrate seamlessly into your wedding prep timeline. Popular options include:
- Botox: Ideal for smoothing dynamic wrinkles (forehead, crow’s feet, frown lines), Botox treatments work best 4-6 weeks before the wedding.
- Dermal Fillers: Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Juvederm are perfect for restoring volume to cheeks, lips, and temples. This treatment should occur at least 6-8 weeks before the wedding to allow time for the fillers to settle.

FAQ
Why do I need a Hydrafacial test a month before my wedding?
A test ensures that your skin responds ideally to the treatment and selected serums, allowing time for minor adjustments before the final treatment. It also delivers an extra dose of hydration ahead of your wedding.
Will the VI Peel make my face peel at my wedding?
No. The VI Peel happens 5-6 months before your wedding, so the active peeling (which typically lasts 3-5 days) is long over, and your face has had plenty of time to rejuvenate before your wedding day. A VI Peel will also prime your skin to achieve maximum results from the remaining treatments.
Can I substitute one of the treatments for something different?
The Bridal Glow-Up is a curated package designed for synergistic results. While substitutions may be possible depending on individual skin needs, they may affect the package pricing and the intended results. We will discuss any necessary modifications during your personal consultation.
