About Preservation Mastopexy Augmentation
Preservation breast augmentation mastopexy provides natural-looking and feeling results without dissecting the ligaments, releasing the muscles and other underlying structures in your breasts. The goal is to support the implant in an elevated natural appearance that aims at longevity to your results. The goal is to restore the volume where you want it most while preserving as much of your natural anatomy.
Available Implants
Motiva SmoothSilk® Implants
Motiva has developed a 6th generation breast implant that comes in a variety of profiles, full, demi and mini so that it can be customized to your desired aesthetic outcome. It also comes in two types: the Round and Ergo. This allows your plastic surgeon to create a custom augmentation to your desired outcome.
Motiva SmoothSilk® implants are round implants that maintain a firm yet soft touch. These implants provide balanced projection across the lower and upper poles of the breast, allowing you to significantly enhance your cleavage. (1) The round implants are ideal for patients that are looking for a more round full appearance. For patients that have lost a lot of volume and they are trying to restore that fullness and custom cleavage. It is also great for patients that want to minimize the risk of rippling.
Motiva Ergonomix® Implants
Motiva Ergonomix® implants are round implants filled with a silicone-based gel called ProgressiveGel® Ultima. These implants mimic the look, feel, and movements of natural breast tissue, and they hold a round shape when lying down and form a natural slope when standing. (1) This is for patients that want the softest most natural appearance from their breast enhancement. This is made to flow with the breast, giving less of the upper augmented appearance to the breast. It is still a round implant, but when standing, it has the benefits of a shaped implant by design of the progressive gel used to flow with the breast.
Motiva Ergonomix2® Diamond Implants (coming soon)
Motiva Ergonomix2® Diamond implants have advanced shell technology with a soft silicone gel. Similar to Motiva Ergonomix® 1 implants, they retain an anatomical appearance when you are standing upright, and a round appearance when lying down. (1) These implants are not currently available in the United States but are coming in the next couple years!
Candidates
You may be a good candidate for a preservation augmentation mastopexy if you are interested in elevating the position, size, shape, and fullness of your breasts while protecting the underlying structures. You should be in good general health, have fully developed breasts, and possess realistic expectations regarding your procedure. (2) It is also important that you lead a nicotine-free lifestyle or are willing to quit smoking. Many of the patients looking for a preservation mastopexy augmentation are moms that have done having children or patients that have been on their weight loss journey. There is a myth out there that a breast lift is only needed after having children. When someone loses a significant amount of weight they may also need a breast lift and augmentation to restore the shape and volume they have lost on their weight loss journey. Ozempic breast has become very common as so many patients have utilized the GLP medications to change their life and health. The treatment of Ozempic breast is unique in that patients are young, but have had changes to their breast that have resulted in ptotic breasts that have lost significant volume. This unique challenge of young patients with changes to their breast make them uniquely suited to have a preservation mastopexy augmentation.

If you are ready to take the first step and schedule your consultation, we invite you to either contact us online or call the office of your choice:
Preparation
Once you have decided to proceed with your preservation mastopexy augmentation, your surgeon will provide you with a set of detailed pre-operative instructions. Each one will help you optimize your procedure, recovery, and results, and typically include directions such as:
- Adjusting Your Medications: Under the proper medical guidance, refrain from taking any medications or substances that will thin your blood.
- Preparing Transportation: Have a trusted friend or relative drive you home after your procedure, as you will not be able to transport yourself.
- Arranging Time Off: Take several days away from your career, responsibilities, and other commitments to ensure that your body has a chance to heal itself.
- Cease Substance Use: Abstain from consuming any nicotine or alcohol in the weeks before your procedure, and maintain your cessation until you have fully recovered.
Procedure
Your skin will be cleansed before you receive anesthesia.
Your surgeon will then create a small, discreet incision near the breasts that can easily be concealed under swimwear and undergarments. They will then use a blunt tunnel technique to access the space behind your pectoralis muscle, all while preserving the ligaments and fascia. Following this, they will use a balloon to gently expand the breast tissue and create a pocket for the implant to rest in. (3)
Once your surgeon has created this space, they will place your Motiva implants. After they place the implants, they will excise any redundant tissue contributing to a misshapen or deflated appearance. They can also reposition the nipple-areola complex to a more central and proportionate placement to address any malpositioning or a downward-facing appearance.
Recovery
Recovering from a preservation mastopexy augmentation is less arduous compared to a traditional breast augmentation with lift. While you may experience some swelling, bruising, or general discomfort, your surgeon will provide you with non-opioid pain relief such as tumescent anesthesia, Pronox, or Celebrex. You will need to take some time away from your daily activities, but after resting for several days, you will be able to return to your routine. Your surgeon may instruct you to continue refraining from any strenuous or physically demanding tasks for several more weeks.
During your consultation, you will receive a set of post-operative instructions to guide you through your recovery. They will help you care for your incisions, manage any discomfort, and return to your routine safely and quickly. If you have any questions or concerns during this time, we ask that you contact us so that we may provide you with the support you need.
Results
You will be able to notice immediate improvements in your breasts after your procedure, but results will become more accentuated as you continue to heal. Results vary depending on your implant type and size, but you can expect fuller, perkier, and more shapely breasts, as well as improvements in your overall proportions. You may also find that certain garments fit more comfortably and flatteringly, allowing you to expand your wardrobe and experiment with your style.
The results of your preservation mastopexy augmentation will be long-lasting, with results that you can enjoy for many years to come. However, breast implants are not lifetime devices, and you will eventually need to replace them.
Benefits of Preservation Mastopexy Augmentation
The goal of a breast lift that utilizes preservation techniques and concepts is that it protects as much of your natural tissue as possible. The goal is to support the breast implant using your natural tissue. The concept is placing the implant where you need the volume and not where you don’t. This decreases the weight on the breast, enhances the shape and maintains the supportive ligaments of the breast. By protecting the natural anatomy it minimizes recovery for our busy business professionals, and maximizes the results. We are no longer limited by the boundaries of the pectoralis muscle. We can create that custom cleavage, improve the overall shape while minimally disrupting your natural breast tissue. This ultimately allows the breast to have a natural movement of the breast while restoring the shape and appearance of the breast.

FAQ
Will preservation mastopexy augmentation affect my ability to breastfeed or become pregnant?
Many of our patients can still breastfeed if they wish to. However, we recommend waiting to undergo treatment until you have completed breastfeeding and having children, as this may undo the results of your preservation mastopexy augmentation. If you still plan to breastfeed after you recover, discuss your plans with your surgeon.
How will I know what type of breast implants are right for me?
During your consultation, your surgeon will assess your breasts and discuss your goals with you. Using this information, they will help you determine the most appropriate type of implants.
How long will it take for me to recover after preservation mastopexy augmentation?
You may return to most of your routine activities after resting for several days, but your surgeon may direct you to refrain from engaging in anything strenuous for another few weeks.
Are the results of preservation mastopexy augmentation permanent?
While the results of your procedure will last for many years, you will eventually need to replace your breast implants.
What makes preservation mastopexy augmentation different from a traditional breast augmentation with lift?
Preservation breast mastopexy augmentation uses specialized techniques that avoid dissecting the underlying breast tissues, protecting the natural structures, ligaments, of your breast. It avoids touching your underlying muscles that allows us to create custom cleavage Meanwhile, traditional breast augmentation and lifts significantly manipulate various layers in the breasts.
Can preservation mastopexy augmentation prevent animation deformity?
Preserve is designed to avoid any disruption to the pectoralis muscle. The pec muscle movement is the cause of animation deformity which can lead to an un-natural appearance to the breast when the muscle lifts and moves the breast implant under the breast.
