About Motiva 6th Gen Implants
Motiva’s 6th-generation implants represent the latest technology available in the field of breast augmentation, focusing on providing improved safety, longevity, and aesthetic outcomes compared to earlier generations. They utilize state-of-the-art features and meticulous engineering to offer patients optimal outcomes in breast augmentation, leading to significant improvements in both form and function.
There are currently two different kinds of Motiva 6th generation implants available, each characterized by their own unique benefits.
Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix with ProgressiveGel Ultima®
The science of ergonomics refers to the way that objects can be modified to better suit the body. Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix® takes this aspect of ergonomics into account, as they are meant to essentially imitate real breast tissue. They are innovative in the way that their shape can automatically adjust with body positioning. These implants contain ProgressiveGel Ultima, which allows these dynamic, subtle transformations to take place. This gel allows the implants to maintain their natural-looking shape, even when the body moves in different ways. The implant shell performs elasticity in a similar way to this advanced filling. Motiva SmoothSilk Round with ProgressiveGel Plus®
Motiva SmoothSilk Round implants are designed to create a fuller, rounder breast appearance. Like the Ergonomix implants, they incorporate innovative design components that allow the devices to maintain their shape, no matter how the body moves. Not only do these implants accomplish fullness, but they have a natural softness as well. Instead of ProgressiveGel Ultima, these implants contain ProgressiveGel Plus, which has a moderate rigidity instead of a low rigidity. While this makes the implants somewhat less soft than Ergonomix, it allows them to be more capable of maintaining a full appearance in the upper breast. (1)
How Are 6th-Gen Implants Different?
Biocompatible implant shell surfaces and 3D surface imprinting technology give Motiva 6th-generation implants the advantage of working more harmoniously within the natural tissues of the body. Thanks to Motiva’s Smooth Silk Surface, they are so smooth that they can minimize the body’s natural response to a foreign material in the breast. This, in turn, results in the potential for less inflammation. (1) Additional benefits include:
- More natural appearance: Motiva 6th-generation implants can help patients achieve a more natural breast augmentation, as the gel and shell designs adapt seamlessly to the movements of the body.
- 100% gel filling: The monoblock nature of the implants allows for a reduced risk of rippling, and an enhanced ability to conform to natural breast contours.
- Less than 1% capsular contracture rate: Motiva’s advanced 6th-generation features confirm an extremely low risk of capsular contracture.
- Nanoscale smooth surface: The surface of this new generation of Motiva implants is designed with 3D surface imprinting technology to create smoothness on a cellular level.
- Enhanced safety: All of the advancements of Motiva 6th generation implants make them a safer option, with a reduced risk of inflammation and the ability to perform radiofrequency identification. (1)

Patients who are hoping to achieve a more natural look may want to consider the Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix implants, while patients who are more interested in maintaining upper breast fullness may find that the Motiva SmoothSilk Round implants are a better fit.
All candidates should have realistic expectations about what Motiva 6th-generation implants can do for their appearance.

Preparation
An important preparation step in the breast augmentation process is implant selection. After a careful evaluation and discussion, your surgeon will help you choose the implants that will work best for your situation.
Your surgeon will also provide you with precise ways that you can prepare for your implant procedure on your own. Oftentimes, these guidelines include steps like ceasing smoking and nicotine use, asking somebody to drive you home and assist you during your recovery, and adjusting your medications according to professional instructions. You will also need to take time off of work to recover.
Procedure
Your plastic surgeon will take special considerations during the procedure, as Motiva 6th generation implants have structural differences when compared to traditional implants. They will make a small incision through which they can create a breast pocket that will hold the implant. The advanced technology of Motiva 6th generation implants makes it easier for the surgeon to place the implants through a small incision in a more efficient way. (1) They will also make sure that breast pockets fit the implants closely, and take precautions that will reduce the risk of pocket expansion. After the implants are in place, your surgeon will close the incisions.
Recovery
For the first 2 weeks after your breast augmentation, you should focus on resting. It is important to limit movements during this time to allow the implants to settle properly. After this initial phase, you can resume working and light activities. Motiva 6th generation implants’ updated technology will allow you to see a reduced recovery time when compared to textured implants. You can expect to return to your full range of activities after just 6 weeks of rest. (1)
Results
Motiva 6th generation implants produce results that look and feel natural. You may also feel more confident with your enhanced breasts. In one survey involving over 400 patients, over 97% of patients who had undergone a primary augmentation with Motiva 6th generation implants reported that they were satisfied with their results, and the physician satisfaction rate was 99%.
