Botox is an incredible product as it can give patients a very natural and aesthetically pleasing result for several months.
Botox typically lasts three to four months and then slowly fades. Most patients see a gradual return of the movement in the forehead and around their eyes and subsequently their wrinkles.
Botox relaxes the muscles that cause us to make wrinkles around our eyes and forehead. With time the muscles will stop forming these lines. I tell patients that even though they will see the results of their Botox at two weeks they will continue to improve over the next couple months. As the skin has time to relax the lines will continue to fade with time. That is why patients will typically look better for an extended amount of time as their Botox slowly wears off slowly after three to four months. Occasionally patients can see results for a longer period of time but that can vary from patient to patient.
