I am very thin and had a Brazilian Butt Lift that improved my shape, but didn’t give me the butt I wanted. Is a butt implant a good option for me?
The majority of patients are extremely happy after their Brazilian Butt Lift, however occasionally patient want more augmentation than fat alone can accomplish. This is especially true in very thin patients that have a limited amount of fat available for transfer and augmentation. The benefit of the Brazilian Butt Lift prior to butt augmentation with an implant is that the person has already had some liposculpting to improve their overall figure. The liposuction of the flanks will enhance your overall figure. The combination of liposuction with the butt implants will give you more of hourglass figures. Also the fat that has been transferred in the previous surgery is used as a buffer to soften the implant in feel and appearance.
The butt implants are a solid silicone implant that will increase your projection and shape. Similar to breast enhancement, make sure you spend time with your surgeon so that you can discuss the various butt implant options and determine a size that will help you achieve your aesthetic goal. The implants come in a range of size from 200 to 800cc implants. In my practice I typically use butt implants that range from 400 to 600cc most commonly. Occasionally I will do smaller or larger implant depending on the individual patient needs for their butt augmentation.
I would make sure that at least two or three months have gone by prior to the second surgery with implants to allow time for the swelling to go down and settle. This will also give you time to have a better idea of the final size after your Brazilian Butt lift and ultimately what you want when your butt augmentation with implants is performed. If the swelling has not completely resolved you may not get an implant that is big enough to help you achieve the butt that you desire. Once a patient has recovered from their Brazilian Butt Lift they can undergo a butt augmentation with implants.
Please discuss this with your board certified plastic surgeon that performs a high volume of butt augmentation procedures.
